[Opinions] Re: What makes a name gender neutral?
The few truly gender neutral names to me are:
Hunter
Elliott
Ashton If I see these names on a class roster I make no assumptions about the bearer being a boy or a girl. On the other hand I expect an Alexis to be a girl and a Sage to be a boy.

Hunter? I thought that name was 100% boy! I also expect Sage to be a girl but I've met some boy Sages too.
I'd expect Alexis to be a girl. Elliott and Ashton seem more boyish to me but I wouldn't make a confident guess. The "I can't guess" names I can think of are Taylor, Morgan, Jordan, Robin, Ash, Casey, Dakota, Oakley, and maybe Riley (still all boy in my head but I know it's popular for girls)
The Sage I knew was a boy so I guess that’s why I assume the name to be masculine. I had a co- worker who named her daughter Sage but she spelled it Saige. Agree that It’s hard to decide if Taylor is a boy or girl.

That’s fascinating to me because I expect Sage to be a girl.
