I'm not particularly fond of most names ending in -ette or -etta, and
Henrietta is no exception--so very frilly. I like Henrika better; it's clean and crisp and angular in a take-no-prisoners sort of way.
Harriet is a name I genuinely
love. It's crisp as well, but less jagged than Henrika; it's got some softness without losing its edge. (Why am I thinking so texturally today?) I'll admit I first started liking it after I'd read
Dorothy Sayers's mystery novels with
Harriet Vane--the character's so interesting that her name began growing on me, too.
