Is it me, or is this name going to be a problem amongst rabid LOST fans? I simply can not believe someone would name their child Sawyer right now.

It's not necessarily because of Lost. Sure, that plays a factor, but occupational names for boys are pretty popular right now. Hunter, Sawyer, Deacon, Spencer, Parker, etc.

Exactly!

Yes, there are cases where a name becomes popular because of the entertainment industry (Madison from Splash), but I don't believe this is the case for this name. Tom Sawyer would also be a source of influence.

I would name my kid Sawyer, but not because of Lost. I don't even watch that show. :)
