[Opinions] regional differences for pronunciation of Charlotte?
Silly question- but how do you pronounce Charlotte? The guide on this site says shar-LOT . But around here, I swear it sounds like shar-let. How do you say it?

ditto, same in Germany
SHAR-lut here in the north of England. Down South, it's often pronounced as shar-LOT (emphasis on the second syllable rather than the first)
Yep.
I'm in the south and say shar-LOT. Some of my friends say SHAR-lot though.

SHAR-leht, more or less. shar-LOT is the French pronounciation.
Shar-let , here in Eastern Canada.
SHAR-lot. Which in my accent is a bit like -laht and more like -lut. I try not to say -let or -lit because part of what I like about this name is the sound of the vowels, but those are what I usually hear (let and lit). I've also heard SHAR-LAWT from Americans (can't tell what syllable they're stressing but they're drawing out the vowel O)

As a side note: At work the other night, someone was looking up the new movie "Charlotte's Web" online and I had to help her spell Charlotte. She kept typing Charolet. :-/ And this was a nurse, and a very smart person. Also funny was that another nurse at work (happened to be a guy) didn't know how to spell it either, and when I was spelling it out for her, he asked me, 'How do you know that for sure?' Um, duh! Are namenerds the only people that know how to spell names correctly? :(

SHAR-let, because I'm American. If I were French or German, I'd say it differently.
There's more than one pronunciation listed under it--you're looking at how it's pronunced in France.

SHAR-let.
You were probably just looking at the French entry - the English pronunciation is:
SHAHR-laht. (Simplified: SHAR-let.) At least, that's how most people I know say it.
