Actually it's pron. eye-AHN-thay or eye-AN-thee or even EE-an-thee. When it is pronouced the first way I said here I love this name. I like ALOT, ever since, I heard it on a children's video a loong time ago!

I love the name, but I prefer the Greek pronunciation of ee-AHN-thee¡VIVA ESPAÑA!

I believe it's actually pronounced eye-ANN-thee. Said this way, I like it, but I'm not really keen on the 'ianth' pron.

It sounds like a woodworking tool.
Sorry.GussieArmand St. Just: So that's why you ceased to love her. What a tragedy.
Sir Percival Blakeney: Ceased? I shall love her till I die. That's the tragedy.

I love Ianthe and I would pronounce it thte way you are, with one exception. I would add an "ee" sound at the end, "EE-un-thee," like similar Greek names: Penelope, Zoe, Chloe, Daphne, Xanthe, etc.
