Re: Do you have a name that has elements you like, but the name itself doesn't interest you?
Strangely, I'm the opposite. I love Veronica (and Angelica) but I'm lukewarm to Erica, Jessica or Monica. I'm not crazy about Bianca or Danica either.I'm very peculiar about "ella" names. I usually prefer "elle" to "ella" except in the case of Daniela which I prefer over Danielle. I like Gabrielle more than Gabriella. Another weird quirk: I like one l in "ella" names not two l's. The two l's just seem overly fussy to me. So it's Daniela not Daniella. The same with "anna" vs. "ana" names: I love Juliana but not Julianna, Ariana not Arianna and Eliana not Elianna. I guess when you're a name nerd, you have a tendency to overthink about names and therefore you're more picky than the general population.Another thing I've noticed about my preferences: I like some "ie" and "y" ending names (Hallie, Polly and Hadley) but when they're changed to "eigh","ee" or "i", it turns me right off them (eg. Halleigh, Hallee, Polli, Hadleigh). It drives me crazy because the "normal" spellings sound youthful enough so you don't have to make them even more infantile.

I have the same style. Juliana, Ariana, Eliana are the best spellings. The ONLY exception to this rule is the name Scarlett for me. It’s because of a personal association. I always prefer less letters. I also hate when people use eigh, ee, and i.

I also prefer -Ana names over -Anna names usually. I prefer Ariana, Juliana, and Eliana too.
