Round 9 - Baby #6

Vlad and I welcomed a daughter into the world. She is so small, so we decided to name her something to suit her rather than just any name. We both settled on Mara Valkyrie – Vlad has always loved the name Mara and I’ve only recently come across Valkyrie, so it seemed appropriate to combine the two.

Casimir was diagnosed with eczema recently. It is genetic (Vlad and I both had it when we were younger), so we obviously knew how to deal with it. It broke our hearts to see Casimir in such a large amount of pain, but he has always been a tough kid and he is slowly recovering.

Louisa started secondary school this year, and she’s been really good. Her teachers are impressed with the detail she puts into her work – especially maths, which she gets from Vlad. Evander started ping-pong lessons after I surrendered to his constant nagging and he is loving every minute of it. He hopes to get to the state championships by the time he turns nine, which I think is realistic because he’s so talented.

Casimir has inherited my love of school, and has made a new best friend, Luka, who is of Croatian descent. Ludmila’s two now, and she’s very rebellious, taking every opportunity to rule the family. She is always trying to show Svetlana new things – especially her drawings – and she always manages to keep us entertained.

And finally, after about nine years, Tumi died. Everyone remained resilient, since Vlad had discussed life and death with our kids at an early age, but Felix didn’t react that well and we are keeping him at home until he gets over it.
