I've tried about 20 times to post a reply to this query, but the reply gets rejected and I'm accused of spamming. There is an explanation but the board won't accept it.

It's supposed to be the Romanian for "wine glass", but I don't think it is, unless it's a dialect word. A similar word is Russian for "wine glass".

Basall in Arabic and Batzal means onion, but maybe varian of Betzalel (in shadow of Go-d)- a hebrew name
