Spiro Agnew was a vice-president of the USA. I think, his family was heard as the last sounds of the phrase "Is this bag new?".
His father, Theodor Agnew, was born in Northern Greece and had a Bulgarian name, Agnev (coming from Bulg. AGNE meaning lamb). In Bulgarian, it is pronounced AHG-nef.
