Is it possible an americanisation of an italian surname like FURLOTTI?
If so this italian surname is a variant of Furlan or Forlani two surnames that comes from the northern region of Friuli in the North east of Italy.
Furlotti is typical of the province of PARMA by Bologna.
It was typical of many italians to change their surname.
good luck for your research!
PS: there is another variant FURLETTI typical of the minicipality of
FIVIZZANO near CARRARA (the city of marble) in TUSCANY. the meaning is the same, still from FRIULI.
