Re: Lindstrom is Swedish. Lind means "linden tree", strom means "twig"

Lindstrom is a Swedish surname derived from two words: (lind) meaning "linden tree", & (strom) meaning "twig".

I think a mistake was made: You have given the meaning of 'Lindquist', also a common Swedish name. Strom means stream (and quist means twig).
Found more evidence of 'strom' meaning "stream"
Found in one name book that 'strom' was German for stream as well as from my Norwegian wife ...also her translation books have it as 'strøm' meaning stream ...
Though I suppose a stream is to a river as a twig is to branch, so maybe they're both correct ...
