Ingle can be an English name (see http://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/ingle) but in the US it appears to be an alteration of the German name Engel as shown at http://tinyurl.com/4ts7w6e. You'll find the origin of Engel at http://www.ancestry.com/facts/Engel-name-meaning.ashx
