In Japan, the last name comes first. So if there was a person with the first name Himari and the last name Sato, the Japanese format would be Sato Himari. Opposite to, say, the US, where it would be Himari Sato.
Other countries that write the last name before the first name are Hungary, China, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam.
