Sounds like a German place name. It may have been Bürzlingen (with a U umlaut), but this does not exist any more.
I found an entry in Grimm's Wörterbuch:
BÜRZLINGEN, adv. ano protenso
but I don't know what this means. "Protenso" (dative or ablative case) means "extending"
