Yes, a version of Zachary if Jean Tosti's explanation is accepted.

The inhabitants of Alsace and Lorraine have German surnames more often than not. However, we have to cross our fingers that Zacher is not a spelling that bows to French pronunciation, as there is another German surname, Sacher.
