I split the name up and may have come up with a meaning ...
Green is obvious, but 'ho' could be condensed from 'hough' ...here's what I found ...
English: habitational name from any of various places, for example in Cheshire and Derbyshire, so named from Old English hôh ‘spur of a hill’ (literally ‘heel’). This widespread surname is especially common in Lancashire.
