Does anyone know the meaning of the surname Ironside?

Ironside is English & Scottish. It is a nickname for an iron-clad warrior, a habitation name from a place in the parish of New Deer in the former county of Aberdeens. I found this information in a surname book at the library.

Seabrook is an English habitation name from a place in England, so called from the Old English River name Soege, meaning: trickling, slow-moving stream. I found this information in a surname book at the library.

literally Iron Side, means brave. English (i assume) but there are names like it everywhere
