Perhaps there is of Italian origin, a variant from the Italian surname Curri. There is also a possibility of a French origin, and a Middle Eastern/Asian origin. I'll look further into it them sometime later.

one of the options already links cury with Murdoch that means "mariner" and since aquaman is an aquatic character I guess the authors knew this because that possibility fits the character very well..
