Can surnames have more than one origin?
And if so how can I find out which is the right one? For example:Lang: English, Scottish, German, Dutch, Danish, Sweedish, Jewish, Hungarain.Fisher: English, German, Irish.I'm adopted and don't know where my real family comes from, but would like to find out.

Yes, of course, many surnames have more than one origin. Unfortunately, the only way to find out which origin is correct is to do a genealogy and trace back the particular family to their original homeland.
