I am looking for the meaning of my surname, Jasso, and am having difficulty finding it. If you know/have information, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

My husband's last name is Jasso. As far back as he can trace his family is to Northern Mexico. The interesting part is that his fraternal grandfather had red hair and was very light skinned. Many of his cousin also have red hair. Does anyone have any info on this?

My last name is also Jasso and my father was Mexican. He once told me that he thought his great grandfaher had been given the name when he moved in with a family during the Mexican Revolutionary War. I was surprised when I looked it up on the Ellis Island website and found that the origin might be Hungarian.

hi i also heard it was hunagairan, lots of hungarians have this last name, but ym granpa told me we cmae with cortez and we r from northern italy, maybe that will help you.
