One of my friends has the last name Winnie- as in Winnie the Pooh. But I know that's not the origin of the name! The thing is, she doesn't either. Does anyone know?

Perhaps it was originally preceded by 'Mac'. MacWinnie is a variant of MacKenzie (as are MacQueenie, MacVennie, MacVinnie, MacWeeny, etc.).
