Does anybody know where the last name vandeveer comes from or the meaning? * Thanks * - Brittany -

In my Oxford names book it list Van de Veer as a variant of Veerman. This is a Dutch occupational name for either a trader in feathers from the Dutch veder(e) - feather, or for a ferryman from the Dutch vere - ferry.

Partial response; Seems Dutch with "Van" being "from" unless it's icelandic which would make things more complex but does not seems to be the case... I need time for the "deever" part.
