It might be Hungarian if not proper Danish. Anyway, it is not Greek, I think.

If this is a Danish name perhaps it is locative. Dal, "valley", being altered to tal following the S. Who could distinguish between an -sd- sound and an -st- sound? A good gazeteer of Denmark would give us the answer.
