A friend of mine is interested in knowing what his last name, Mihell, means. Does anyone have any ideas?

My father was Ronald Victor Mihell and also had a fair amount of research on the family history. I think Diane is my sister! Bob is quite probably our cousin from Ontario, Canada. Anyone interested in following up on this, email me at the above address.

What is the ethnic background? I would guess it's a version of the surname Michaels in some other language.

He doesn't know anything else about his surname, unfortunately. As he's from Southern England it could be anything, really. I will let him know what you suggested, though. Thank you.
