Try doing a websearch for Kingvig and Kinvig. I did, and learned to my surprise that it's a Manx name. Like all Manx surnames (it seems to me) Kinvig is a MAC name, formerly Mackinvig, which is said to mean "son of small head." I imagine the original Manx (Gaelic) form was something like Maccinnbhig, but that's a guess.
