I know that in the south of France in Paulhiac (nearAuch)there is a family called Pustienne. I assume that this surname is also coming from the Netherlands.
In a paper in the Netherlands once a read an article from a Pustjens searcher, South Limburg, who said that Pustjens is a bastarding from saint Passchier.

Take it for what it is worth.
Nevertheless I am curious from which country you are writing.
