Miró ...
Does anyone know the meaning of the surname Miró, as in Joan Miró?
Possibly derived from Mir which means "Peace" in Slavic

The origin of this name is completely different: it doesn't com from a slavic word like "mir", but from a latin word "mirare", to admire.
Mirò is a Catalan surname: see the Spanish surname Miròn or the French variants Miraux or Miraud.

And to take it a step further, mirare comes from the Latin word mirari and means "to wonder" ...
It's also the Spanish word for "look."
