Does anyone know the meaning of the surname Miró, as in Joan Miró?Possibly derived from Mir which means "Peace" in Slavic

The origin of this name is completely different: it doesn't com from a slavic word like "mir", but from a latin word "mirare", to admire.
Mirò is a Catalan surname: see the Spanish surname Miròn or the French variants Miraux or Miraud.

And to take it a step further, mirare comes from the Latin word mirari and means "to wonder" ...

It's also the Spanish word for "look."
