Does anyone know what the meaning and origin of Urbigkeit is? I know the my family comes from Germany, but we suspect that they origionally came to Germany a few hundred years ago from Lithuania.

There's a German name Ubrigkeit. Urbigkeit looks like a 'mistake' to me. Ubrigkeit (or Uebrigkeit: the u has 2 dots on it) is used as a German word (run a search for it and you will see) meaning 'authority' or something but it's not in the dictionaries I checked. In that case I suppose the name would be a reference to God.
