Does anyone know the origin of "Banes"? I think it may come from Old English "bana" or Old High German "Bhen" both of thm mean the same thing as "Bane". I also know 2 or 3 generations ago some of the family changed the spelling to "Baines". If anybody knows anything please let me know.
