In Dutch, what does Ver mean? In many Dutch surnames you have Ver in the front, (ex. Vermolen, Versluis,)

At the start of names it is a contraction of 'van de' or 'van der', meaning 'of the'.

On related site "behindthename.com" I looked up "ver" in description and found one that may be of use. Though not directly Dutch, it may be related.
