My last name is Baigent, and I don't really know very much about it. I was always told that the family had come from Normandy, France- but I'm not sure. I would appreciate any help you all could give me!

It certainly looks French but I can't find a French reference to this name, or to Begent which appears to be the same mame. However, there is some interesting information about this family on the web (I'm sure that all of this name will have a common origin). Have a look at this website -
