Nearest I can get for Pinchot is a Slavic derivative of the Hebrew pinchas which means "oracle" ...other alternates are Phineas, Pincas, Pinchos, Pincus, Pinkas, and Pinkus ...anything more specific would be greatly appreciated!!
Jackovac, I think it's likely a Serbian or Croatian form of John or James/Jacob (the Hebrew name John "God is gracious" and the Hebrew name Jacob/James "the supplanter") + the patronymic suffix -vac ...any help here also much appreciated!!!
