Message: "Enz" - Behind the Name

Has anybody else even heard of my last name? We don't know anything about it, even the origin. I did at one time find a picture of a coat of arms, but I can't find it again. We suspect that it is German in origin, but we don't know for sure. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Z ending suggests a diminutive of a Germanic given name, as in Ludwig/Lutz, Konrad/Kunz, Ulrich/Uz. So I'm guessing at a diminutive form of a name such as Engelbert, Engelhardt or Ernst. If so then it's the name of a male ancestor.
