Re: I have in my family the surname Boby
According to Reaney and Wilson's surname dictionary Boby derives from the place name Boothby, of which there are three in Lincolnshire. "A farm or village with booths or shelters" says A.D.Mills in "A Dictionary of English Place-Names".
