I'd like to know the origins & meanings of Barben, Dunst, & Pleis. I seem to think Barben might be English, Irish, Scottish, or Welsh. My dad thinks that Barben might be derived from Switzerland or Sweden. What is the origin & meaning of Barben ?

Barben could be related to the fish name 'barbel'. In German it is 'Barbe'.
Dunst is a German surname which comes from Middle High German "dunst" (haze, mist, steam)
