It is definitely pronounced "sha-lay-yev". In Russian it is written
( Шалеев ).

I Think the pronunciation is Shal-ave

Either shah-LAH-yif or SHAH-lah-yif, depending where the accent falls. I've never heard this name spoken and I've been unable to find out.

Could be sha-LAFE of sha-LIE-ef too. Sorry, I'm not too sure.
