Springsteen, Rundgren
Does anybody know something about the surnames Springsteen and Rundgren. It's hard to find info about it which is not related to the musicians themselves. My guess they're both Danish or at least Scandinavian and steen means 'stone' and gren means something like 'green' or 'wood'. The other components i don't know.

Rundgren is a Swedish surname. "rund" means "round", and "gren" means "branch".

I agree with Yiva's explanation. I would just add that the name is really meaningless because it's made up, like a lot of Swedish names that don't end in -son. I used to know someone called Kihlgren, "wedge-branch", same type of name.
Bruce Springsteen is supposed to be of Dutch origin on his father's side, but the name may have been altered under American influence.

yes, now with the new information i found a site about it, saying it means "natural water source rock" from the Dutch spring and steen .
