Santibanez and Sarles
Can anyone help me out with the meaning of the names Santibanez and Sarles? I'm not sure what nationality Sarles is, but I believe that Santibanez is Spanish.

Iban is an old form of the name John in Spanish, Santiban looks like "Saint John".Sarles looks French but I can't find confirmation of that. Maybe it just reminds me of the French place name Arles.
There are some English names like this; Sarle, Sarel, etc., from an old Norman name (male), Sarle, which traces back to Old Scandinavian. The meaning is said to be something like "armour".
