Black Dutch ancestry
We are supposed to have Black Dutch in our family's ancestry. My mother's maiden name is: Osbon, (Guess was her mother's maiden name) and my father's last name is: Tedford, (Raney is his mother's maiden name). I have found: German, English, Irish and Scottish connections to these surnames.
From what I've read, Black Dutch refers to several definitions, including Native American/European mixed descent, southern German Gypsies, and Moorish background.
Could anyone help in deciphering the origin of Black Dutch ancestry. I would greatly appreciate any information.
Many thanks,
Ginger Chew

Osbon looks like a version of the English surname Osborne.
Tedford is thought to be from an English place name, perhaps Tedfold in Sussex, or Tetford Lincolnshire. There is no place called Tedford.
