probably from Czech, the meaning is something like litlle michael, Czech use pet forms of names for surnames Peterka, Jozifek, Pavelka etc

Is it in Czech, whether. So, pronounce "mee-khal-kah" (shortly), maybe.

It looks like a Russian surname. The word "michalka" means "broom" in Russian, but I'm not definite about if that's really the meaning of the surname, it's just a suggestion.

I can't belive it is a Russian surname. "Michalka" doesn't mean anything in Russian (Mochalka means spong, broom is "Metla" or "metelka").
