Ramon is the last name of the late Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon. Do you think there are places named Ramon in Israel - like Kishon, Sharon or Arnon?

There's actually a place called Ram On as you can see at http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=IL&addtohistory=&city=ram+on. However, that's not the source of the family name. Ramo(u)n is actually a variant of Rachman, an Aramaic attribute of God meaning 'merciful'.
