Hiltunen, Serra, Snethen, Thambyrajah....What are their origins & meanings ?
I don't have a clue about the origin of Hiltunen. Serra looks like it would Italian or Spanish. Snethen looks like it would be German. Thambyrajah looks like it would be Hindu. I have some friends with these surnames, & I can't find the origins & meanings of these names anywhere. Can anybody tell me the origins & meanings of these names ?

Thambi is 'royal' name from Kerala, but it's also common in Sri Lanka. It is the Tamil word for 'younger brother'. Rajah means 'king' in Sanskrit.
Serra
Serra is French & Italian. It means "one who came from Serra "mountain range". Serra is the name of a place in France. It designated the dweller in a narrow passage or gorge, or one who used a saw in his work.

"Hiltunen" is a Finnish lastname but it doesn't really mean anything... Sorry I can't be more of help.
