Soyeux means 'silky' in French but there's nobody by that name in France as you can see at http://www.infobel.com/France.

Well, it's not among the 1,300,000+ names listed at http://www.geopatronyme.com/ over more than a century so I can't imagine where they could be.

They are from Lorraine and the one I know grew up in Corsica in Bunifaziu
