Rey vs. Reh
I am curious about what anyone might be able to tell me about the different surnames "Rey" and "Reh." My great-grandmother's maiden name was "Rey" and she was rumored to have come from Switzerland, but I do not know for sure. My mother-in-law's maiden name is "Reh" and I believe that the "Reh's" came from Germany. If anyone has any further insight, a helpful response and/or email will be greatly appreciated.

Reh could be an anglicized form of germa surnames like Rehr o Rehn?

REY is a french or swiss regional surname for ROI or LEROY.
All these surnames mean KING. A surname that comes from a nickname.
