Kerkerian is apparently a French alteration of the Armenian name Kerkorian which means 'the son of Kerkor', the origin of which is unknown to me. You can check out the biography of Kerkor 'Kirk' Kerkorian at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirk_Kerkorian

The Armenian name "Kerkorian" means "son of Gregory".
