Spolidoro
Does anyone have any information on the surname "Spolidoro"? It's Italian, and I'm told it's very common in Italy, but as I've never been to Italy, I wouldn't know. ^_^

"Shut up or I'll recite the dictionary as well."
"Oh, now you're going to make me vomit."
"Nice to know I'm returning the favor."

This is so much like the more common Italian surname Polidoro that I have to wonder if there is a connection. But how to explain the initial S?
I thought it might be from a place-name, but I haven't found one.
I don't think it is a very common name in Italy, by the way.

It is typical of Southern Italy of the surrounings of the city of POTENZA, about 200 km south frpm NAPLES.
I agree: it could be a wrong spelling of POLIDORO. Both surnames are beared in the same area in fact.
Polidoro comes from a given name "Polidoro".
