Guderjan
Hey guys, I've never posted on the surname message board before.

My anthropology teacher's last name is Guderjan, pr. Good-ur-jahn. He said it's Polish, and that it used to be Guderian, but the spelling was changed once they got to America. For a while the family pronounced Guderjan Gud-err-ee-en, which confused everyone, so they made a family decision to change the pronunciation.

Anybody know anything else about the name?

Hi Jordan,

Guderjan / Guderian / Guderjahn / Guderjann / Gudrian:

German surname meaning "good Jan".
Jan is a German short form for Johannes (English: John).
