Dairon
HiJust joined after browsing and noticed a conversation about the name Dairon. My grandmother was Catherine DAiron, daughter of James Dairon a well known Glasgow man. I have loads of info if the people who are interested want to get in touch.By the way, Huguenots are ruled out according tothe Society. however, Great Aunt Nell always claimed we were French aristocracy fleeing during the revolution!! Haven't proved it yet.annie

Hi Annie, that's funny I haven't been on this forum in a while and the first thing I see is your post on a conversation I started last year. So there's even a Dairon Society! I'd be interested to know what their theory is and I'm sure Jim Young would too since he got quite into the case for me. You'll need to wait until they open up Who do You Think You Are to ordinary people then one of you can go on and end up in Versailles looking at a portrait of Jacques, Duc de Ayron ...I'll send you a private message. Lora.

LoraSOrry to cause confusion. The Society I referred to was the Huguenot Socety. I contacted them to ask about the Dairon name. Are you a Dairon? My Mother's cousin is one of the Oban Dairon's. Ann

Hello Annie I sent you a private message you should have a notification top right somewhere. Or if you click user options top right messages are at the top. I'm not a Dairon, no. I'd love to have such a rare surname, would certainly make genealogy a lot easie (sorry I am Lora btw, I changed my posting name a while back, changed it back to Lora for my last reply to avoid confusion and forgot to do the same there doh.)
