I was told my name is from the Tejas tribe of native Americans. I was born in 1951 and named after my grandmother who was a Texan. She was named after Tempie Stubbs the prettiest girl in Blanco county in 1899. Tempie is a fairly familiar name in Texas. In the Basque language it means "summer". My niece, also named after my grandmother, is the first female to be awarded the bronze star with oak leaf cluster in Naval history. I'm proud of our name and would like to know what it means in the Tejas language. Thanks
