meaning and origin?
My Surname is Cutino and my father's side (where the name comes from) are from Mexico. I've been misidentified as "Italian" my whole life because people think that my last name is Italian. I was shocked to find out, that Cutino does come from Italy, which of course freaks me out because I'm half Mexican. I can't find the meaning or the actual confirmed origin of the name. I also have never met another Cutino that is not related to me so the name is not used too often.

Why not? Cutino could be a sicilian surname of spanish origin! But is difficult to prove. Spanish variant is written with a "tilde" on the "n":

In fact Cutino is a mexican surname. Coming from "Coti"? see also portuguese "Coutinho"?They could be topographic surnames as well.
Both Cuti and Cutino are sicilian surnames. very rare in Sicily
